SONS AND SLAVES CHAPTERS 40 -41

Chapter 40

A crowd had gathered around her as she lay on the sidewalk, breathing heavily…she was barely conscious as blood streamed from the side of her head.
“Get her into the car!” someone shouted…

“My phone,” mumbled Lolade weakly, as she fumbled weakly around her…someone retrieved the phone and placed it in her hands…

“Taiwo,” she muttered, giving the phone to the nearest person…she passed out. The man picked up the phone and searched for Taiwo, dialling the number as others carried Lolade into the car that had hit her…

“Oh my God! Which hospital are you taking her to?” asked Taiwo on the phone as he stepped on the accelerator and yanked the steering, driving the car off the main road and into a side road…the hospital was a twenty minute drive away…he began praying in the spirit as he drove…he prayed that Lolade would survive and not be maimed…that those evil spirits did not follow her in the car to wreak more havoc…

He picked up his phone, not taking his eyes off the road and called Dr Adekoya…

Mrs Abayomi had been reading her bible when Taiwo had dashed out of the house, refusing to say what had happened to make him rush…she had immediately dropped her bible and begun to pray in the spirit in other tongues…something must have happened…she asked the Holy Spirit to reveal it to her as she prayed in the Holy Ghost…it was a prayer the Holy Spirit appeared to have been waiting for…for not up to thirty minutes later, Mrs Abayomi began to feel terrible pain on the right side of her head…she felt as though she had been hit by something very heavy and with terrific force…

She reeled physically with the force of it and then recovered herself…it was Lolade! She had been injured somehow…but the Holy Spirit did not reveal details…He had however revealed this for a purpose…she needed to pray...Lolade’s survival depended on it!

Dr Adekoya called his colleague Dr Jinadu, the owner of the Wellington Hospital to inform him that a ward of his was being brought to the hospital and should be attended to immediately…he drove off praying in the spirit and hoping against hope for Lolade’s survival…he had read in the bible that the Holy Spirit helps us pray with groanings that cannot be uttered, because we do not know how to pray as we ought…he linked this scripture to the one he had read in 1 Corinthians that taught that when we pray in tongues it is our spirit that prays…not our minds…

The Holy Spirit indeed helps us to pray with groanings that cannot be uttered, when we pray in the spirit…he had learnt from pastor Taiwo that the correct translation of ‘groanings’ in the Greek should have been ‘inarticulate speech’…that would be the equivalent of speaking in tongues.

Dr Adekoya mused on how far he had come with God, ever since he had been talking with Pastor Taiwo, he had been learning things that Pastor Taiwo had in turn learnt from one Mr Adeleye, and now tomorrow was the first day he would attend the home fellowship.
They had all planned to begin the prayer and fasting sessions the next day – Sunday…this was an attack of the Enemy to stall it…to prevent them from starting, so they could sink their hooks deeper into pastor Kehinde…

He was really looking forward to attending this Service and hoped that Lolade’s condition was not life threatening…he stepped on the accelerator and sped away…Lolade on his mind…

There were nurses scurrying around seemingly silently all around the emergency room…he saw the doctors shouting orders but couldn’t hear them…he saw the woman on the hospital bed and floated towards her…he was drawn by the agitation of her spirit within…it was attempting to break free of the body, yet its eyes were tightly shut…she appeared to be fighting to leave her body, but somehow she couldn’t break free…

They were losing her fast…the life support machine was already slowing down its beeping!
Lay hands on her injured head!

“Sir?” responded Mr Adeleye, more out of alarm at the loud voice that suddenly reverberated in him and around him, jarring him vigorously…
Lay hands on her injured head now!!!

Mr Adeleye put forth both hands and was not surprised when they passed through her head and touched the spirit within…her eyes snapped open…the spirit within stared at him uncomprehendingly, but he let  his hands remain ‘in’ her head…slowly her eyes closed in rest…

Everything began to blur and dissolve as Mr Adeleye felt himself being drawn away from the scene…everything was beginning to get transparent…including the nurses and the doctors and the room and the patient…they all began to fade from his sight…

He came to himself in a chair in his study…it took a while for his vision to clear…he realized he had been transported away in the spirit to lay hands on an injured person…he realized that he had just had a vision…

The battle was on and the Holy Spirit had personally intervened! Never in his life had he experienced a vision, let alone transportation in the realm of the spirit…like Phillip was transported to Ethiopia…except that Phillip was transported bodily, while he was transported spiritually.

It looked like God was bringing in the days of the Manifestation of the Sons of God…for as darkness covered the whole earth so shall his glory arise upon the few that he had chosen…he sank to his knees in grateful worship…a song floated into his mind…

Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the works thy hands have made…then sings my soul my saviour God to thee…

Time passed and the night darkened the skies, but Mr Adeleye was oblivious to time…he had passed into a realm of worship that few ever reach…he wasn’t singing songs because he was overwhelmed with emotion…he sang because he was grateful for the evidence of God working to will and to do of His good pleasure in him…he sang because he was grateful that God had chosen him of all people to be an instrument in His hands…he sang because he had finally understood that to walk with God required a sacrifice most believers were not willing to make.

He had fifty million in his account but had not touched one naira of it…he had not received any release from God to do so…he was afraid to become too involved with the world again…for money was the first and most powerful gateway…it brought the world into the home…and finally into the heart…he had come to treasure his relationship with God above all else…he had lost interest in any ambition or worldly desire…that was what it took to walk with God…he knew that now…that was what it took to be one hundred percent consecrated…for anything less than a hundred percent was impure…adulterated…like juice mixed with even a drop of water.

He still worked as a school teacher; for he had to provide for his family…but he had no ambitions beyond his job…he was content with what God had provided…it was far more valuable than anything that the world could offer.

He thanked God for bringing him to a point where spiritual things had become more real than physical things…

He remembered what Pastor Taiwo had taught him last…

Matt 19:29-30 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

It costs to follow the Lord, Pastor Taiwo had said…he had taught from the story of the rich young ruler who had obeyed all the commandments since his youth…sin wasn’t his problem…his problem was lukewarmness…he was too attached to his wealth…to the things of the world…his love for the world far outweighed his love for God…he was a friend of the world…and though he did not sin…had made himself an enemy of God by his love of the world.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

This was the taking up of the cross that Pastor Taiwo had taught him about…the cross was the symbol of sacrifice…there was always a sacrifice in following Christ…Christ was to be followed OUTSIDE THE CAMP…those following were to come bearing his reproach or shame…there was shame in following Christ…the shame of being ridiculed for not following the well beaten paths of worldliness…the ridicule of not ‘saving up for the rainy day’….accumulating the wealth of the world, in case God fails to come through…trusting the arm of flesh more than faith in God.

Chapter 41

Kehinde didn’t quite understand it yet, but it seemed as though someone else was sharing his body with him…it was a recent development which he didn’t like at all and it had happened twice already…he would suddenly black out and yet remain conscious enough to hear himself speaking…or rather, his voice speaking…and yet the words spoken didn’t seem to come from his own thoughts…it was as if someone else was using his own vocal cords to speak.

He regretted that his relationship with Dr Adekoya had broken down irrevocably…he would have confided in him and sought his advice on medical opinion…he turned off the Internet and leaned back in his office chair…was it really possible for him to have a split personality? Was he experiencing a nervous breakdown? The Internet had raised so many plausible possibilities, he didn’t know which might be applicable to him…but he did know one thing…he had to get some rest…he had been working too hard…what with the death of his father and the full weight of the church’s administration brought to bear on his shoulders.

He would take a week off and leave the country with Maureen…go somewhere that Rising Star Church wasn’t known…where he wasn’t known…

You can go to Malta…it is beautiful there…go for two weeks….

He sat up quickly, trying to listen again…that thought certainly hadn’t come from him…someone was using his mind to think as well!

Yes he had to go for a rest indeed…he would go home now before his voice started saying things he didn’t want to say.

He got up and wore his jacket and strode out of the office…Maureen would be waiting for him in his bedroom…she never left the bedroom as he had instructed her…she was always obedient…he needed her body now every night…the pleasures she gave him were far more enjoyable than that which he might have gotten from a wife, and she had given him both…but he always preferred the ones she had offered first…the perverse ones…she was…a godsend…he chuckled at the term as he got into his car…these days he preferred to drive himself and without the company of his P.A.s.

Last Sunday Service had been wonderful but also scary…for the first time in his life, he took the back seat and heard someone else inside of him preach the word to the people.

Judge not that you also will not be judged, it’s there in his word!

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

You don’t judge a book by its cover, you haven’t read the pages inside yet! Look, I’ll give you another scripture that makes that very clear!

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

You don’t know where that person is coming from…you don’t know what he has gone through…you don’t know what he is presently going through…but God is able to make him stand!

AMEN!!! The congregation had roared filling the atmosphere with their applause and whoops…they had absolutely loved it…

Matthew 7:1 says: Judge not, that ye be not judged.

So when you come to church and see someone else not quite dressed the way you were brought up, judge not! When you see someone’s hair style that doesn’t look appropriate, judge not! When you see someone dancing not quite as appropriately as you would like…at that point, Kehinde found his hand extending the microphone towards the congregation for their response…

JUDGE NOT! Was the deafening response…the congregation was on their feet as Kehinde wrapped up the Service…the other Person had submerged and allowed Kehinde to re-emerge to the surface…it was Kehinde that gave the benediction…the congregation had been fed…and wowed with the word of God…

As he drove into mainstream traffic he thought deeply about the sermon…it wasn’t bad…it came from the word of God…it was scripture…he might not even have been able to do it better…the only thing that alarmed him was that it was not at all what he had prepared to preach…yet he had preached a message for a full one hour that he hadn’t prepared…that had to be God!

Even if he had a split personality or some other personality disorder…how could the other Personality have been able to preach the word, quoting scriptures that he himself hardly remembered? It indeed must have been God!

He turned into the familiar road that led to Banana Island…it was quiet and serene…he drove straight down the long road that led to his huge mansion…Maureen would be waiting for him…he anticipated the pleasure she would give him…he never seemed to get enough…he was addicted to her now…

Maureen smiled on the bed…she knew he was fast approaching the house…she was in his head all the time…she monitored his every movement. She slid out of bed and slipped on the soft shimmery night dress he always wanted her to wear…things would be different today…he was scheduled to attend another meeting tonight and she had to prepare him…
He would be long gone from the country before his family knew it…then we will see how they hope to confront him and deliver him from the hands of Mammon!

Tonight’s meeting was the second and final Initiation Ceremony…he would partake of the Meal of Spirits…then he would belong to them…finally!

WATCH OUT FOR THE FINALE OF…SONS AND SLAVES!!!
