The Origin of
Music
Music first originated in
the heavens with the creation of Lucifer. In the book of Ezekiel we are given
some insight into the creation of Lucifer:
Ezek 28:12-13
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation
upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest
up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden
of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the
diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and
the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was
prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
The
character referred to here is named the king of Tyrus and it says of him that
he had at one time or the other been in the Garden of Eden. Describing his
appearance, Scripture says his covering consisted of every precious stone. So
we know that it is not talking about Adam because he had no such covering. As a
matter of fact when he fell the bible records that his eyes were opened and he
saw that he was naked.
No, this character is not
human, for no other human stepped into the Garden of Eden but Adam and Eve. It
was a spiritual personage that predated Adam, for even in the days of Adam, the
only other creature that entered Eden was the Serpent who is not described in
such glowing terms of beauty as the character described in Ezekiel. So this
spiritual personage predated Adam in the Garden of Eden.
This spiritual entity had
musical instruments built into his inward parts, for the bible declares that
musical instruments crafted with skill (workmanship) were prepared in him in the day he was created. This
gives us an insight into this spiritual entity’s anatomy and how he was created.
We could therefore say that his internal organs were actually living musical instruments!
We get a further revelation
of his identity in the following verse:
Ezek 28:14-15
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that
covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou
hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from
the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
